PRIMARY PHASE
“Sifundza Kanyekanye” – We work together – sums up exactly what we do at Enjabulweni Primary!
Grade 1, 2 and 3 make up our Foundation Phase and Grade 4 to 7 make up the Senior Phase. The high standard of learning that takes place in the Foundation Phase is further enhanced by teaching assistants who work with the learners in core subject time. The result - our teacher/learner ratio is roughly 1:10. A perfect learning environment! This means we offer inclusive education to learners that might have barriers to learning. The Senior Phase has small classes and follow, like the Foundation Phase, a solid curriculum based on the South African NCS (National Curriculum Statement). We are also proud to boast the Paiva Learning Centre, a department of Enjabulweni that offers learners in this phase an opportunity to work in small groups in core subjects and be included in the mainstream for others. A unique speciality that no other school in Swaziland offers!
Our approach to learning is holistic and educators use every opportunity to use practical, hands-on lessons to teach our learners core concepts and ideas. We offer a wide range of subjects, including three languages (SiSwati, Afrikaans and French) that learners may choose from as their second language, not many schools in Swaziland offer such a wide range of second languages. Non core subjects include Art, Computer Literacy, Life Skills, Physical Education, Library and Cultural SiSwati. All grades teach in themes and learners love the special occasions that we celebrate – Pyjama Day, Favourite Character Dress Up Day, Eco Week, to name a few. We also have visiting drama groups which expose our learners to a bit of theatre, an important part of growing up and becoming immersed in a bit of culture!
Our afternoons are jam-packed with different sporting activities, divided into summer and winter codes. Learners compete against other schools in Swaziland, both ISASA schools and local Manzini schools.
Enjabulweni definitely emulates its meaning – Place of Happiness
